Help for those who didn't pass the IBLCE Exam

October IBLCE Exam results are out. Congratulations to those who passed! I’d love to hear about your success and celebrate along with you! Did you take attend one of our Lactation Exam Review courses or a Picture Perfect Seminar? Maybe our online review packages were just the ticket to help you study and succeed? But, I’ve already heard from a few of you looking for help. Maybe you didn’t pass the IBLCE Exam, and you’re looking where to go from here.

You’re wondering where things went wrong, or asking how to do things differently the next time around, and how to see success on your next attempt. Over the years, I’ve helped a lot of people coming from the place you’re in, and I can help you, too!

Feeling a mix of emotions

After finding out that you failed to pass the IBLCE Exam, you could be feeling a mix of emotions. Are you discouraged and dejected? Maybe you’re angry and frustrated that you didn’t pass the IBLCE Exam. You may even feel a sense of relief in having the results, even if they’re not what you’d hoped. Perhaps you’re wondering if it’s worth it to try again after failing your first try. It is! You have support behind you, whether you realize it or not.

We have a real telephone number that is posted prominently on our website, and we have real people here who know the IBLCE requirements. We are willing to help you analyze your own strengths and weaknesses, and we’ll help you to come up with a plan that makes sense for you.

Why you didn’t pass the IBLCE Exam

There are many reasons people fail the IBLCE Exam. You may have already come up with a dozen reasons for why you failed. But, if you’re like most people, you’re probably not sure why you failed.

Did questions seem like they came out of nowhere? Did you feel like things were over your head? It could be that you weren’t exposed to the exam content, or even that you’d seen the correct content, but that you just didn’t retain it. Maybe the photos tripped you up; my new workbook could make you more comfortable decoding those photos. (Historically, people who perform poorly with the text-only questions perform even worse with the photo-based exam items.)

It’s a tough exam. It might be cold comfort, but remember, you’re not alone if you didn’t pass the IBLCE Exam on the first try. By asking yourself seven questions, you can evaluate what worked and what didn’t, and see how to proceed with your next step.

Maybe it’s been awhile since you’ve studied, or you have forgotten how to study. Maybe you’ve never studied for a comprehensive exam before. Or maybe you tried to study for a comprehensive exam the way you usually study for an end-of-semester exam. It’s not the same. I suggest breaking your preparations down into three steps if you didn’t pass the IBLCE Exam the first time around.
